As we prepare for the November festivities, I thought it would be nice to pause for a moment and reflect on just how good we have it in the world of technology. Often enough our days fly by so fast, in part due to the modern technology and business equipment that make multi-tasking so common in today’s culture.
Consider it wasn’t so long ago that product orders had to be placed over the phone or thru mail order and that 4-6 weeks delivery was pretty standard. Of course now with e-commerce orders today are instant, easy to be placed any of the 24 hours a day, and automatically recorded, invoiced and shipped.
News, photos, and video are delivered around the world in seconds thru social media sites like Twitter and Facebook on mobile phones. What a difference from waiting on the evening news or the morning newspaper.
Even with the advances the internet has brought us, its use has changed with the advent of wireless technology and mobile devices, no longer requiring use from home or work on desktop computer.
So next time we wish we had the latest phone, computer or similar tech toy, let’s not forget what a pleasure it is to be living in this day and age of modern technology!
